This Fashion Illustration course encourages basic skills and the development of a personal contemporary illustration style, incorporating an advanced individual edge to the expressions of the silhouette renderings, close ups and still life illustrations. Volume, negative space, composition and movement will be studied using a live model as well as models in movement.

Different textile surfaces from jeans, wool, different prints and knit will be studied and illustrated in their specific media techniques, from a textile repetition to how to render the same worn on the model. In the collage work, students will be encouraged to research different creative fields, visual composition and color combinations as well as mixing with stitches and paper cut technique.

This course is no longer open for registration. You may be interested in Accessory Design taught during the same time period wherein students begin developing an accessories collection.
