French + Photography in Paris

Students will spend 1.5 hours a day in French class prior to "Photography in Paris." There will be three different levels + a special class for students who are already fluent in French.

Dedicated to the exploration of the contemporary photographic scene in Paris. Gallery and museum visits, guest lectures, artist studio visits will be an integral part of this course as well as the development of a cohesive body of work inspired by the city and its photographers. Students will have the opportunity to be in touch with the world of editions and professional photo agencies and will be introduced to the French contemporary photographic scene, from the 70's to present. Inspired by the artists shown, students will create their own images with a personal approach developing a better creative control and theoretical understanding through collective critical exchange.
