PRE-COLLEGE

Fashion Sketchbook

Barbara Skuczik

A fashion sketchbook is a critical part of a designer's portfolio. During this course students will learn how to develop this part of their presentation, learning how to effectively express ideas from the initial research of theme, to fabric development and to fashion design.
Students will develop their fashion sketchbook to supplement their fashion school application portfolio and which will visually explain their thought process and ideas to the observer/reviewer. In order to achieve this aim the students will learn different techniques to make their sketchbook original and personal, such as collage, sketchbook architecture, embellishments etc. During this class students will also visit museum and gallery exhibitions, as well as fabric markets to learn how to apply their real-life environment into their research.

Please note that course availability is contingent on sufficient enrollment and that classes are subject to cancellation.
