PARIS COLLEGE OF ART

Paris Summer School ®

UNDERGRADUATE + ADULT

French + Painting/Drawing

Students will spend 1.5 hours a day in French class prior to "Painting and Drawing." There will be three different levels + a special class for students who are already fluent in French.

Anne-Flore Cabanis

This class will begin as an "observational" drawing and painting course. Students will use the elements of visual art (line, form, space, body, light and shadow, color, perspective, etc), and will learn how to interpret these in various forms of drawing and painting by experimenting with different techniques. Students will explore the realities and possibilities of a visual language based and learn how this can be transformed into art language and techniques. While this class will mostly be a mix of model and still life drawing and painting, this class will be open to a wide variety of styles. Creativity and curiosity are the key words in this course. Students will explore more experimental themes and ideas in the last week. Masterpieces of History of Art and contemporary artists' works will serve as the research inspiration for each student's final project.

Please note that course availability is contingent on sufficient enrollment and that classes are subject to cancellation.
