Accessory Design

This course will cover how to put together an accessory collection from inspiration to complete manufacturing packages. Students will explore all aspects of the design of accessories including handbags for men and women, small leather goods, travel bags, and belts while considering materials such as leather, fabric, and fur. Preparatory sketches will lead to full-scale drawings for projects. The goal is to familiarize students with the design process as well as the nuts and bolts of what goes into creating accessories collections. This course will give the students the tools and skills to begin creating a portfolio to present for a beginning position in the accessories industry.
