Foundation Portfolio Development

Students will develop their skills in the techniques and language of fine art. A portfolio showing potential for further study in fine arts and/or design will be developed through classwork and critique. Projects will include: drawing from life and from a model, color theory and painting exercises, and a thematic project which will be open to mixed media and personal interpretation.

10 Sessions: Saturdays 10:30-13:00

Please note that course availability is contingent on sufficient enrollment and that classes are subject to cancellation.

NOTES

Supplies: A sketchbook (book sized), a large drawing pad, charcoal, pencils (an assortment), India ink, 3 paint brushes (synthetic flats. Small, medium, large), an OLFA (or Exacto) knife, Black and white Canson paper 24X32 cm, 4 pieces of Bristol board,a basic set of gouache paints (white, black, blue, red, yellow), a glue stick. Other materials may be added later in the course.
